KD5OH DMR Repeater
Alamogordo

The KD5OH DMR repeater is part of the AZ-TRBONET / DMR-MARC repeater network and is joined by the K5KKO DMR Repeater in NE El Paso, the N5RWZ DMR Repeater in El Paso, the KJ5UFO DMR Repeater in Roswell and the NM5C DMR Repeater in Truth or Consequences to create a local area group which is then connected to the AZ-TRBONET C-Bridge in Arizona where it joins that network as well as the rest of the DMR-MARC network.

For those that are un-familiar with the different DMR networks, there is a lot of information available on the internet and rather than try to detail all of the differences here, I'll simply outline a few key facts about this repeater and network to help avoid confusion.

Since this is part of a linked repeater system,  I recommend you read all of the information on this page before attempting to use the repeater as what you do on this system affects many other systems and users.  Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions: greg@amentfamily.net

The AZ-TRBONET

The AZ-Trbonet consists of 29 (and growing) DMR-MARC repeaters in Arizona, New Mexico and El- Paso that are linked together via a common C-Bridge.  The C-Bridge also provides connections to the "Outside World" with links to ten other C-Bridges or IPSC Network Bridges.  Each repeater in the network utilizes two time slots with multiple talk groups in each time slot. With the exception of the area wide Local talk group (2), the talk groups are not all necessarily the same in each repeater although many of the talk groups will be found in other repeaters (North America and Worldwide English for example).  The repeaters in New Mexico and Texas are open repeaters. Many of the repeaters in Arizona are closed so if you plan to travel, please check with the repeater group there before using them.  All of the repeaters can be found on the map on the repeater page on the DMR-MARC web site.

The DMR-MARC Network

This repeater is part of the DMR-MARC network and the talk groups available on the repeater are all DMR-MARC talk groups. There are talk groups available on the C-Bridge that are cross-connected to outside networks (BrandMeister, DMR+ with groups like 310, 311 etc) however I have chosen not to make them available on this repeater. None of the groups on this repeater are cross connected out of the DMR-MARC network (even though the talk-group numbers may match talk group numbers on BrandMeister or other networks - they are not cross connected) .  If you would like to talk on one or more of those groups, I would suggest either a hotspot or a repeater that is connected to the BrandMeister network.

More information is available on the DMR-MARC network here: https://www.dmr-marc.net/

Radio vs HotSpots

This is a radio network and user access is strictly by radio via a repeater. This network does not accept or allow hotspot access.

Frequency, Color Code and Talk Groups

There are two time slots with multiple groups available in each time slot. Only one group can be used at a time in a given time slot. Since the system is linked, when you use a group, it ties up the entire time slot for not only this repeater but for all other repeaters in the network that have that group assigned to the same time slot.  You should listen to all groups in a time slot before using that time slot to make sure the time slot isn't already in use (use a RX group call list with all of the groups for that time slot in it rather than just a single group call for the group you intend to talk on). Time slots can be used independently and simultaneously as if they were two separate repeaters (i.e. on this repeater, one person can be talking on North America at the same time another is talking on New Mexico).

Make sure you have and use a valid DMR radio ID obtained through www.radioid.net

[ARS] Must be disabled in your radio.

These repeaters are a digital, narrow-band repeaters. The following repeaters are in the same local call group and all have the same talk groups.

Location Callsign Repeater RX Repeater TX
 Alamogordo KD5OH 447.650 442.650
 El Paso K5KKO 448.600 443.600

* Note. The Cactus group on this system is an open group and all are welcome to join and use it. The Cactus (3185) Talk Group is hosted by The Western States DMR Network C-Bridge and is available on most DMR repeaters that are owned or managed by a member of the Cactus Intertie SystemŽ, however the Cactus Talk Group is not affiliated with the Cactus Intertie SystemŽ. Any person that can access a DMR repeater that has the Cactus Talk Group can use the talk group, you do not need to be a member of the Cactus Intertie SystemŽ to use it.

** These groups are not normally connected to the repeater. When someone keys the repeater on the group, it is connected to the repeater and remains connected for 10 minutes.  Each rekey of the repeater on the group resets the timer.

*** Talk Group 9 only keys the Alamogordo, El Paso, Roswell and Truth or Consequences repeaters. Use this group to talk around just the local area.
